FIX: Canon Printer Error C000
Canon Printer Error C000 stops printing by stopping carriage movement and leaving the printer on but not responding. The code shows an internal problem related to the carriage system, printhead, or related sensors.
The most common cause is an ink cartridge not seated right or a block in the print path; other causes include dirt, parts out of place, or sensor reading errors.
1. Make Sure that all Packing Materials have been Removed
If you see Error C000 the very first time you power on your Canon device and try printing or copying, there’s a good chance the cause is packing material that wasn’t removed. Open the printer door and make sure all packing materials (such as protective tape and foam) have been removed from the printer. Close the door and check if the problem persists.
2. Make sure that all Ink Tanks are Properly Seated
Error C000 can also be caused by ink tanks that are not fully seated. Open the printer door and make sure all of the printer’s ink tanks are firmly clicked into place. To be sure, lift each ink tank and reseat it.
3. Make sure that None of your Ink Cartridges are Empty
Canon printer users may also see Error C000 if one or more ink cartridges (or tanks, depending on the model) are empty. To rule this out, remove your printer’s ink cartridges one by one and check that none of them are empty. If you find an empty cartridge, replace it and see if that fixes the problem.
4. Remove all Foreign Objects and Clear the Paper Feed Path
One of the most common causes of Error C000 is a paper jam or another obstruction in the paper feed path. Make sure your printer isn’t jammed, remove any foreign objects (such as paper clips or torn pieces of paper), and completely clear the paper feed path. If you remove jammed paper, pull it out gently in the direction the paper normally feeds to avoid tearing.
5. Reset your Canon Fevice
If none of the methods listed above worked for you, this one often does. Turn the device off, unplug it from the power outlet, wait for approximately 5 minutes, plug it back into its power outlet, and turn it on. Once you do, check whether you are still seeing Error C000.
Note: Resetting a Canon device will delete all of the faxes stored in its memory.
